Life is a journey of one step at a time. Sure doesn’t seem that way when we are children and the hours and days seems to drag on and on, especially around Christmas.
We know from Scripture that Jesus’ journey through life, from his humble birth in a manger to his resurrection after a gruesome crucifixion, was filled with twists and turns, ups and downs. The good news is that we, like him, can take solace in knowing God’s love and gentle leading serve to shine a light on the unfolding path.
We are not alone, even in the darkest hours. As difficult as it can be to lay hold of that Eternal Truth, may the Light of this season remind us that Jesus is as near as our very breath.
May you and your family and friends be enveloped in love and joy this Christmas and New Year, and may the peace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the peace that surpasses understanding, enfold you with the grace and mercy of the Divine Mystery.
